Introduction

Wild yam, also known as rheumatism root, colic root and yuma, is a low creeping perennial that grows wild in the eastern half of North America. It is notrelated to sweet potatoes or yams.

Wild yam has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties and has shown to be beneficial for many areas of the body. Has been used to treat many conditions like, gall bladder infections, diverticulitis, help in regulation of female reproductive systems, rheumatism, arthritis, cramps, menstruation, high blood pressure and cholesterol. Wild yam root has also been shown to benefit the spleen, kidneys, lungs, and stomach.

Suggested Use:
